Lt. Col. Jeffrey B. Palmer
Lieutenant Colonel Jeffrey B. Palmer received his commission in December 1993, following graduation from Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
After completing the Basic School in 1994, he reported to Pensacola for flight training and was designated a Naval Aviator in 1996. Selection to fly CH-46Es led him to the Fleet Replacement Squadron HMMT-204, MCAS New River.
In 1997, he reported to HMM-268, MCAS El Toro and served as the Assistant Logistics Officer for a deployment with the 11th MEU. Following the deployment, he volunteered to be a Forward Air Controller with BLT 1/1, Camp Pendleton where he served as the Assistant Operations Officer and deployed again with the 11th MEU.
In 2000, he reported to HMM-166, MCAS Miramar where he served as the Logistics Officer and deployed for a third time with the 11th MEU.
Returning from deployment in 2003, he attended the Naval Post Graduate School, majoring in Manpower Systems Analysis. His follow-on assignment was as a Manpower Analyst for Total Force Structure Division, Quantico, VA.
In 2008, he reported to MAG-16 (REIN), Al Asad, Iraq where he served as the Plans Officer.
Returning stateside in 2009, he had the pleasure to report to HMM-165, MCAS Miramar where he served as the Executive Officer and deployed with the 15th MEU.
In 2012, Lieutenant Colonel was transferred to MWSG-37, MCAS Miramar where he served as the Executive Officer.
In 2013, he reported to the Naval Discharge Review Board where he served as a standing board member.
In July 2015, Lieutenant Colonel reported to H&S Battalion, Quantico to serve as the Executive Officer.
Lieutenant Colonel Palmer’s personal decorations include: the Meritorious Service Medal with two gold stars, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with one gold star, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with one gold star.
