BATON ROUGE, La. -- The Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is working with its federal, state and local partners to remind those that fled Hurricane Gustav to remain in place until state and local officials announce it is safe to return. "Don't go home when there's no power, there's no water, the roads are blocked, and trees are down," said FEMA Administrator David Paulison.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The head of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) today announced that federal aid has been made available to supplement state and local response efforts due to the emergency conditions resulting from Hurricane Gustav beginning on August 28, 2008, and continuing.
