FEMA Teams With Home Depot, Lowe?s To Provide Free Publications For Homeowners And Builders

LATHAM, N.Y. -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is providing free publications to help homeowners and contactors build more disaster-resistant homes.

FEMA publishes a variety of books, pamphlets and building plans that describe how to help protect homes against floods, high winds, and other potential disaster-related damage. The tips and techniques are specifically geared for the do-it-yourselfer and building contractors. Information on retrofitting buildings and elevating utilities is included.?

Many of these publications will be available at Home Depot and Lowe's stores in Nassau and Suffolk counties now through April 8. ?Supplies are limited.
