National Park Service staff at Big Cypress National Preserve continue to monitor the track of Tropical Storm Isaac. The NPS is preparing facilities for tropical weather. At this time there are no Preserve related closures in place.

If the storm continues on its current projected track steps may be taken to close all visitor facilities within the Preserve, including recreational access to the backcountry, some time during mid-day Saturday or later. If the track moves further from the coast in subsequent storm up-dates the likelihood of a closure may be diminished.

An up-date to this notice will be provided tomorrow as decisions are made with the latest storm data. You may also contact the Oasis Visitor Center at 239-695-1201 or 1205, or the Welcome Center at 239-695-4758 for further information.
