U.S. European Command’s mission is to counter transnational threats by working with allies, partners, interagency, other Combatant Commands, and public or private partnerships.
Since the end of World War II, the United States has worked closely with European allies and partners to achieve security and stability. These are some of the ongoing key exercises, operations, and programs within our Area of Responsibility (AOR), as well as important oversight activities, and featured events.
During the two-week forward training deployment (FTD), the 37th Airlift Squadron are conducting tactical flight training which include low-level flights, airdrop training with partnered forces and other related training events. The evolutions help preserve joint readiness, build interoperability and strengthen relationships with our NATO allies.

Located Garmish, Germany, the Marshall Center's College of International and Security Studies and Outreach Programs directorate conducts a variety of unique programs involving officials from more than 110 countries. The center staff teaches most programs in three languages: English, German and Russian
U.S. Marine tanks, artillery, and light-armored reconnaissance vehicles have arrived in Bulgaria to support NATO allies and international partner countries. The heavy equipment, assigned to the Combined Arms Company, Black Sea Rotational Force, arrived in Novo Selo Training Area, Bulgaria, Aug. 25, 2015. The tanks, artillery, and light armored reconnaissance vehicles were loaded on trains and moved across Europe demonstrating our allies’ and international partners’ ability to move heavy equipment across the region to support operations during a crisis. The equipment will allow the Marines to participate in mechanized regional multinational exercises in Eastern Europe.

While Russia has supported some common security efforts in counterterrorism and counternarcotics, these contributions are overshadowed by its disregard for the sovereignty of its neighbors in Europe and its violation of numerous agreements which require Russia to act within international norms.
