The Solar Physics Branch is part of the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) Space Science Divison. Researchers in the Solar Physics Branch have been involved in observational and theoretical studies of the solar atmosphere since the early years of the space age. Space Test Program
The Space Test Program (STP) has a wide variety of platforms to host space research and development experiments including Small Class Spacecraft, Medium Class Spacecraft, the Space Shuttle, and Piggyback on other spacecraft. STP provides spaceflight for qualified DOD sponsored experiments at no charge to the experimenter, via the DOD-Space Experiments Review Board. STP also provides services to other experimenters on a reimbursable basis.

Observatoire de Paris
The Observatoire de Paris is the world's oldest active observatory. The site of the Observatory was surveyed by members of the Académie Royale on June 21, 1667, the Summer Solstice. The Observatory is a large rectangle (31 m x 29 m) with its four faces oriented with the cardinal points of the compass. The latitude of the south face defines the Paris latitude (48° 50' 11''). The meridian line passing through its center defines the Paris longitude. Construction of the Observatory was completed in 1672.
