About Us: The Wichita Regional Office provides VA benefits and services to approximately 242,000 veterans throughout the State of Kansas and oversees a benefits delivery program that awards more than $273 million in compensation and pension payments annually. The Wichita Regional Office is co-located on VA grounds with the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center. The Regional Office is located in building 61 at the northwest corner of the VA complex. The Regional Office also has out based Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment offices located in the Topeka VA Medical Center and at Irwin Army Hospital, Ft. Riley, Kansas. There are three major military installations located within the state (Ft. Leavenworth, Ft. Riley, McConnell Air Force Base). Transition assistance and disabled transition assistance briefings are conducted at these installations to help service members as they transition from military to civilian life. Service members may also receive pre-separation counseling prior to retirement or separation from active duty. |
