NCO Week celebrates US Army Central enlisted

Army Reserve signal Soldiers recognized in deployment ceremony

October 30, 2016 — The 335th Signal Command (Theater) hosted a deployment ceremony at the unit headquarters here Oct. 30, to recognize nearly 70 Army Reserve Soldiers who are preparing to deploy to Southwest Asia in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. MORE

Landing Afloat

October 26, 2016 — Soldiers assigned to Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 111th Aviation Regiment, 77th Combat Aviation Brigade, conducted deck landings in the Arabian Gulf Oct. 11-12. The UH-60 Blackhawk and AH-64 Apache crews took turns landing their aircraft aboard the USNS Alan Shepard to qualify their crews in this type of maneuver. MORE

Upon completion of the qualification each set of aircraft was refueled by the vessel and flown back to Camp Buehring, Kuwait. Training exercises like these play an important role in mission readiness and total force capability by increasing interoperability between branches, which is vital for joint collaboration missions.(U.S. Army photos by Sgt. U.S. Army Central Reactivates Digital Liaison Detachment

October 21, 2016 — U.S. Army Central formally welcomed and reactivated a Digital Liaison Detachment during an activation and assumption of command ceremony at Patton Hall Oct. 21. MORE

Arifjan Celebrates Hispanic Heritage

October 19, 2016 — Regional displays brought a 28 year old observance to life for Soldiers in the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility where Hispanic and Latin American Soldiers could celebrate their memories from home and share it with their fellow service members. MORE

Weapons training unique for U.S. Army Central mariners

October 12, 2016 — U.S. Army Central key personnel attended a targeting seminar at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, Oct. 12-14. The open forum seminar allowed key leaders to learn and discuss important strategies and doctrine concerning the concept of joint targeting. MORE

Protecting the Environment

September 23, 2016 — CAMP ARIFJAN, Kuwait -- Environmental issues are an increasingly important concern for U.S. forces at home and abroad. If left unaddressed, these issues may cause negative impacts to the environment potentially creating life, health and safety risks. MORE

U.S. forces are readily deployable to anywhere on the planet and have the capability to set up operations under very harsh conditions to meet the required objectives. A set of environmental guidelines is followed to minimize initial impact and alternatives that are more protective of human health and the environment are constantly implemented as operations transition from initial deployment into sustainment.
