Secretary Johnson's Visit to the Baton Rouge Area

Statement by Spokesperson Marsha Catron on Secretary Johnson's Upcoming trip to Louisiana

On August 18, Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson will visit Baton Rouge, La. to meet with state and local officials and review ongoing response and recovery efforts in areas affected by severe flooding. While in Baton Rouge, Secretary Johnson will participate in a media availability to discuss the relief and recovery efforts, including assistance by the U.S. Coast Guard and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Napolitano Announces New Louisiana 'Decision Team' and Appoints Recovery Personnel

Secretary Napolitano announced on March 11, 2009 the establishment of the Unified Public Assistance Project Decision Team in the Louisiana Transitional Recovery Office, and her choice of Charlie Axton to lead the newly-created team. Secretary Napolitano also announced the appointment of Tony Russell to be the acting director of the Transitional Recovery Office.
