Civil Rights Learning Center (CRLC)

The Civil Rights Learning Center (CRLC) is a collective initiative of the Civil Rights offices at the U.S. Department of Transportation. The CRLC was developed to foster continuous learning of the highest quality for DOT employees, recipients of DOT financial assistance, contractors, and stakeholders. The CRLC also works collaboratively with other agencies and offices to identify and make available appropriate internal and external civil rights curriculum and/or guidance.

The CRLC assists stakeholders with exploring, integrating, and applying civil rights learning to their work and their community.  We connect learning center users and stakeholders through varied approaches that create dialogue and build networks around learning, and communication.  Our ultimate goal is to provide resources that will aid learners in effectively responding to evolving needs and issues regarding civil rights administration and application.

We believe that learning is a process of active engagement coupled with real-life experience, including the development of skills, knowledge, understanding, values, ideas, and feelings that can be applied to our work.  As such, we hope you’ll join us in fostering an environment that enhances awareness, aids in innovation, contributes to personal development, and promotes increased cultural understanding.
