Hazus User Group Conference

Hazus will be the featured topic of the conference, which will be hosted by the South Carolina Emergency Management Division and the College of Charleston Lowcountry Hazards Center.

2016 Hazus Conference

The 9th Annual Hazus User Group Conference will be held from November 7-9, 2016 in Charleston, South Carolina. This year's theme is 'Achieving Disaster Resilience through Hazus Innovation.' The event is being organized by volunteers from the South Carolina Emergency Management DIvision and the College of Charleston Lowcountry Hazards Center. The annual event brings Hazus users together and provides an information sharing platform for success stories, best practices, lessons learned, recent research, and workshops and discussions on Hazus topics of interest. 2015 Hazus Conference

The 8th Annual Hazus User Group Conference was hosted by the Georgia Hazus User Group in Atlanta, Georgia from December 9-11, 2015. The conference included a number of key presentations from Hazus users in academia, local/federal government agencies, and international organizations that have adapted the use of Hazus overseas. 2014 Hazus Conference

The 7th Annual Hazus User Group Conference was hosted by the Central Hazus User Group. This event brought Hazus users together and provided an information sharing platform, success stories, best practices and lessons learned, recent research and workshops and discussions on Hazus topics of interest. The event was held on August 4-6, 2014 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

2013 Annual Hazus Conference-Symposium

The 6th Annual Hazus Symposium was held in Indianapolis, Indiana, on August 5 – 7, 2013 and was hosted by the Central Hazus User Group (CHUG). The symposium included key sessions such as a Hazus Workshop for new users, Canadian Uses of Hazus, Flood Vulnerability and Social Mapping, a Hazus User Group Forum and an address from Rep. 2011 Annual Hazus Conference

The 5th Annual Hazus Conference was held in Seattle, Washington, August 10 – 12, 2011, at the Henry M. Jackson Federal Building located at 915 2nd Avenue, Seattle, Washington, 98101. The conference was an exciting two and a half days with key sessions including Map Your Neighborhood, Flood/Mitigation Planning, Benefit-Cost Analysis for FEMA Hazard Mitigation Assistance Grants and the Use of Hazus Multi-Hazard (Hazus-MH) for Emergency Planning and Preparedness. A coastal storm surge training was also held prior to the conference as well. View the conference proceedings.

2010 Annual Hazus Conference

The 4th Annual Hazus Conference took place in Indianapolis, Indiana, August 23-25, 2010, two days of educational sessions, hands on training and one-of-a-kind networking opportunities with GIS specialists, emergency managers, geologists, state/local planners and the like. The 2010 Hazus Conference Proceedings are available in the FEMA Library.

2009 Annual Hazus Conference

The 3rd Annual Hazus-MH Conference took place in Raleigh, North Carolina August 10-12, 2009. This conference brought together approximately 200 new users, experienced users and interested users of Hazus-MH, first responders, local government decision makers, planners and GIS specialists. The 2009 Hazus Conference Proceedings are available in the FEMA Library. 

2008 Annual Hazus Conference

The 2nd Annual Hazus-MH Conference was held August 5-7, 2008 at the Omni Hotel in San Diego. The conference brought together a diverse audience of emergency managers, model developers, GIS professionals, educators and risk management specialists to share expertise and experience in the development and use of Hazus-MH. 2007 Annual Hazus Conference

The 1st Annual Hazus-MH Conference on June 19-21, 2007, hosted by ESRI, brought together over 400 Hazus-MH users from 19 nations to discuss a wide range of topics related to the Hazus-MH model development and applications for risk assessment, planning and preparedness.
