Open to all New Mexico 3th through 6th grade students, public, private,
parochial and home school. Cash prizes awarded to the class of entry
chosen for 1st place and cash prizes awarded to the 1st– 3rd place entries.
 
RULES:
-   Use only 8.5 x 11 inch, white paper or poster board. Other sizes will
     not be judged.
 
-   Must be student’s original artwork. No syndicated or copyrighted    
    characters will be accepted. No computer aided or copy machine entries
    will be accepted.
 
-   Reproducibility of the artwork will be a factor in the judge’s decisions, so
    use contrasting and bright colors.
 
-   All entries become the property of the New Mexico Floodplain Managers 
    Association (NMFMA). The right to modify any poster for reproduction is 
    reserved.

  NMFMA WORKSHOPS/CONFERENCES
 
The Spring 2017 workshop will be held at the Isleta Hotel and Casino in Albuquerque, April 18-21.  Loretta Hatch, 505-869-2358, pzadmin@bosquefarmsnm.gov is the Conference Director.  Nicole Friedt, 505-670-1540, nicole.friedt@state.nm.us is the Program Director for the technical track.  We are still looking for someone to be the Program Director for the non-technical track.  More information will be added as we get closer to the workshop.  Contact Mike Czosnek, 575-835-0240 if you are interested in the Program Director position.  Also, contact Nicole Friedt if you would like to make a presentation at the workshop.
 
The Fall 2017 workshop will be held at the Angel Fire Resort.  Burl Smith, 575-377-1389,  bsmith@angelfirenm.gov is the Conference Director.  We are still looking for someone to be the Program Director for this workshop.

GIS Committee   

 

Purpose:    To make GIS more available to NMFMA members

                    and communities throughout the State.

Training and Education Committee

 

Purpose:  To develop training and education opportunities for floodplain managers and others.
