S&T USST to discuss Enhancing First Responder Capabilities in the Digital Age

S&T Under Secretary for Science and Technology Dr. Reginald Brothers will speak at the upcoming Forum for Industry Innovators and Governments on Preparing First Responders for our Digital Future. Dr. Brothers will discuss: Enhancing First Responder Capabilities in the Digital Age.

Given rapid technological advances and trends of urbanization and climate change, governments are forced to think differently about how they can enhance the safety and security of citizens. Recognizing this new era, the Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) wants to work with innovators to apply cutting-edge smart technologies to make our communities more resilient and first responders safer. As communications and data become more digitized – how will first responders rely on information to make the right decisions, improve command and control operations or gain better situational awareness? We believe the answers to those questions come from many sources. At S&T, we want city planners, industry innovators, and technologists to better understand the capability gaps of first responders and how consider how rapid technological advances can offer wide-ranging solutions for responding to emergencies and saving lives.

Join S&T for an interactive conversation that connects industry innovators, startups, and technologists with first responders to discuss the art of the possible for enhancing the safety of the public and the first responders—those who put their lives on the line every day.
