S&T FRG will be at APCO 2016!

See you at APCO 2016  - connect, share, and collaborate! Booth #1067

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) First Responders Group (FRG) is your one-stop technology showcase at the APCO 2016 Conference and Expo! Join us in Booth #1067 on Aug. 15-16, 2016 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida to meet with the men and women who are working to make first responders better protected, connected and fully aware.

In partnership with the University of Central Florida, FRG will demonstrate cutting edge technologies for command center operators: a multimedia training program and unique immersive simulator that allows incident commanders to learn and practice critical skills through scenario-based learning. In addition, we’ll be demonstrating next-generation responder prototypes and discussing how FRG is working with industry and end-users to advance the Next Generation First Responder program, which aims to ensure responders have the right tools to keep our communities safe.

On August 15 from 3-4 p.m. ET, FRG and UCF will conduct a Facebook town Hall to discuss the Firefighter Incident Commander Training Simulator. Follow us on Facebook today!

Watch and participate in live-streamed round table discussion with S&T FRG and responders!

Join  us on August 15,  from 11 a.m. to noon ET at the APCO 2016 Conference and Expo for an important discussion with first responders on the technological capability gaps that hamper their ability to respond to an emergency. This conversation will be streamed over S&T's Facebook page! Follow us today!

Technology is growing at an exponential rate, but so too is the complexity of the threats facing our communities. To keep us safe, first responders across the country must leverage cutting-edge technologies, from advanced communications systems, drones and wearable technology, to “Internet of Things” sensors and connected smart cities. The DHS S&T Next Generation First Responder program is working to leverage that technology to help make our nation’s first responders better protected, connected, and fully aware.

This exclusive conversation with first responders will stream live on Facebook (www.facebook.com/dhsscitech)  beginning at 11 a.m. ET. Responders will answer your questions on cutting-edge technology, disaster training, and what the general public can do to help responders in the event of an emergency. Don’t miss out on this exciting chance to connect with those that keep our communities safe.
