Campaign: FEMA Think Tank

Disaster prevention

To combat: wild-fires, tornadoes, hurricanes, river-flooding, droughts. To prevent massive disasters too often in the news.

1 Wild-fires:

a. The Ice-Ball Air Delivery System ( IBADS)

TeA refrigeration unit, on an Abrams’ tank type vehicle, trailing hose to constant water supply, inside which is electrical supply for refrigeration unit. Hose covered with reticulated slick metal or other material, so easily trail the vehicle for distance of 1 mile, to water/electrical supply. May be stationed on nearest usable road, or track near fire.

The water is frozen by spiral refrigeration pipe, on vehicle, in a tightening coil leading to chamber where ice-balls any size from golf to tennis balls, are delivered rapidly to Air-rifle howitzer type delivery, sending balls or projectiles up to 2 miles. Air-gun type delivery, automatic machine-gun action, sending 100 balls/minute. (Automatic air-guns, both pistol and rifle already exist: adapt technology to large caliber ice-balls) These balls will fall directly into hottest parts of the fire, and start quenching it. Several IBADS can deploy from different directions, across country terrain, dousing flames from safe distance.
