The 2016 Government Cyber Security SBIR Workshop affords Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) awardees in the completed Phase II or Phase III processes the opportunity to collaborate and present their research and technologies to researchers and cyber security leadership from the government, private sector and academia. This workshop facilitates knowledge-sharing, improvement of existing deployed technologies and transition to the marketplace of innovative research that safeguards cyberspace. It showcases SBIRs from the Department of Homeland Security, Department of Defense and National Science Foundation.
SBIR Workshop’s Goals
The workshop focuses on maximizing technology transition opportunity for SBIR-funded research. It accomplishes this mission by:
- Showcasing cutting-edge cybersecurity research technologies that are being developed by small businesses.
- Improving security in government networks and the overall internet community by developing new and enhanced technologies for the detection, prevention and response to cyber-attacks on the nation’s critical information infrastructure.
- Facilitating the transfer of these technologies into operational environments.

Researchers and cyber security leadership from the government, private sector and academia; innovators and investors; government prime contractors; system integrators; IT security professionals; and government cybersecurity program managers and technical staff.
