Laura

Lakehurst, NJ
Production Controller, Navy Calibration Lab
Sergeant, U.S. Marine Corps, Retired
1 year with NAVAIR

After being injured by a mortar attack in Iraq, Laura was medically retired from the U.S. Marine Corps. Serving as a Marine was Laura's life plan – it was the only goal she had. Her injury forced her to find a new career, which she struggled with for several years after leaving the Marine Corps. Translating her skills, finding work that fit her experience and knowing where and how to apply were all challenges until Laura connected with a representative from the Wounded Warrior Program and, ultimately, found her NAVAIR career. Laura will always remain a Marine in her heart, but has found a new purpose supporting Sailors and Marines with NAVAIR.

Bryan

Cherry Point, NC
Junior Mechanical Engineer
2 years with NAVAIR

Bryan never expected to stay near his hometown of New Berlin, NC, but after meeting with NAVAIR recruiters, he realized there was no other place he'd rather start his engineering career. After graduating from North Carolina State University, he's found incredible support and guidance at NAVAIR. Working on aircraft structures, aircraft rotors and support equipment design, he loves the opportunity to actually get his hands dirty – to take things apart, put things together and really connect with the structures he's working on. More than that, he gets to see his designs turn into Naval Aviation capabilities and watch them take flight.
