Support to the Homeland Security Enterprise and First Responders Group (FRG) projects engage first responders to better understand their needs, develop innovative solutions to address their most pressing challenges, from small- to large-scale emergencies, and help practitioners identify requirements for transition to use.

Homeland Security Advanced Research Projects Agency (HSARPA) projects facilitate research initiatives within six S&T technical divisions, with each Division focused on addressing a major threat, and enable multidisciplinary, team-based work that is essential for complex problem solving and strategic solutions.

Acquisition Support and Operations Analysis (ASOA) projects provide technical, analytical and managerial expertise and resources to help DHS components identify, evaluate and acquire equipment, technology, and services efficiently and affordably to better secure the nation.

Research & Development Partnerships (RDP) projects collaborate throughout the federal government, private sector and internationally, create partnerships and leverage non-S&T technological resources to deliver needed capabilities to the Homeland Security Enterprise.

  • International Cooperative Programs Office projects pair U.S. entities with foreign counterparts to engage in cooperative research on homeland security issues.
  • Office of National Laboratories projects partner with state-of-the-art facilities and the Department of Energy’s National Labs to counter threats to the nation’s security.
  • Office of Public-Private Partnerships projects share technical needs of DHS components with the private sector to encourage investment in solutions.
  • Office of University Programs projects support Centers of Excellence networks focused on multidisciplinary research and education in homeland security-related fields.
  • Special Projects Office projects focus on partnering with the intelligence community to identify emerging technologies of interest and leverage relationships with the overall Homeland Security Enterprise and its components.
