Project detail | ||
Project Description: | Geosynthetic Reinforced Soil (GRS) can be used for abutments and/or the integrated bridge system; however, adequate design and construction guidance have not yet been established for closely spaced systems (reinforcement spacing less than or equal to 12 inches). This project will pull together 40 years of research and inservice structures to developĀ a synthesis report compiling all the data availableĀ that can be used for deployment in the Federal Highway Administration's (FHWA's) Every Day Counts (EDC) initiative.
Goals: | The key project objective is to compile the background and research necessary to support the design and construction guidelines.
Product Type: | Research report
Test Methodology: | Report
Expected Benefits: | The expected benefit is aid to transportation agencies in the design and construction of Geosynthetic Reinforced Soil.
Deliverables: | Name: Geosynthetic Reinforced Soil Integrate Bridge System Synthesis Report Product Type(s): Research report Description: This report is the second in a two-part series to provide engineers with the necessary background knowledge of Geosynthetic Reinforced Soil (GRS) technology and its fundamental characteristics as an alternative to other construction methods.
