Project Description:   Under this interagency agreement the following activities/studies have been initiated to develop technologies and methodologies to preserve, rehabilitate, and restore historic covered bridges and timber bridges, and for education and technology transfer: I.  Inspection, Preservation, and Maintenance of Covered Bridges Advanced Field Evaluation Tools for Condition Assessment of Wood Members in Covered BridgesImproving Understanding of Moisture Effects on Outdoor Wood Adhesive BondlinesEarly Detection and Eradication of Termite Infestations Destructive to Covered Bridge Structures by Acoustic EmissionII. Strengthening and Rehabilitation - No studies this period.III. System Behavior Covered Bridge Rating Through Load Testing – Phase IIImproved Analytical Techniques for Historic Covered Bridges – Phase IIGRS-Timber BridgeIV.
