The ORNL Computational Sciences and Engineering Division is looking for post-bachelor’s and post-master’s associates to conduct research in the Geographic Information Science and Technology group. The Associates will support spatial research initiatives with special emphasis in remote sensing and imagery analysis to develop population models. Applicants must have recently earned a B.S. or M.S. degree in geography, GIS, remote sensing, or a related field. Access the Post-Bachelor’s application and the Post-Master’s application.

We’re gearing up for Summer 2016. You should too! If you’re an undergraduate, recent AAS/BS/MS/PhD graduate, or current graduate student, and are interested in conducting research through a summer internship at ORNL, check out the HERE program and the ASTRO program. Both programs accept applications year-round and are open to a variety of academic levels, in a variety of STEM and technical fields.

“Since the moment I arrived at ORNL and witnessed the great minds that work here and the quality and capacity of systems here, it just called to me.” That’s what Andrés Márquez Rossy, a former participant in the Post-Bachelor’s program, and current participant in the Laboratory Technology program, thinks about his experience at ORNL. Recent bachelor’s or master’s graduates should consider applying to the ORNL Post-Bachelor’s or Post-Master’s programs which offer full-time research positions in a variety of STEM disciplines.

Melissa Yu, a recent Farragut High School graduate, and current Harvard University freshman, got her start in science as a part of the Science Education Programs at ORNL. Her first exposure was through ORNL’s Science Saturdays program, which she enjoyed so much through high school, that she interned with the HERE Entering Freshmen Program this past summer. Yu now knows science and math are the fields she wants to continue to pursue while at Harvard.
