AIR QUALITY TEAM
Air Quality is one of 12 technical service teams (TSTs) within the Federal Highway Administration’s Resource Center. The Air Quality TST works closely with FHWA Headquarters, field offices and other Federal agencies to provide technical assistance, technology deployment and training to partners and customers in the field of transportation and air quality.
The Team provides technical expertise in the following areas:
- Air quality planning
- Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement Program (CMAQ)
- Criteria Pollutants associated with transportation sources (carbon monoxide, particulate matter, nitrogen dioxide)
- Emissions Modeling: Regional and Project Scales
- Freight air quality
- Highway air dispersion modeling: (Project and Regional Scales)
- Highway air dispersion models (CALINE3, CALINE4, CAL3QHC, CAL3QHCR, AERMOD)
- Highway Traffic Noise
- Mobile Source Air Toxics (MSATS)
- Mobile source emissions models (MOVES, Emfac)
- MySQL Relational Database Management System
- Pollution health effects
- Transportation conformity
- Transportation issues related to Global Climate Change and Greenhouse Gases
