If you applied for disaster assistance and get a letter from FEMA saying that you’re ineligible, keep these things in mind:
- Read the letter carefully. You may just need to submit missing documents, such as proof of residence or proof of ownership.
- Call us at 1-800-621-3362 (TTY 1-800-462-7585) if you would like to talk to someone one-on-one about your options or if you have questions on the appeals process.
- You may appeal the decision in writing and have your case reviewed.
- Appeals are handled on a case-by-case basis.
