Project Name Description
Delivering Safe, Comfortable, and Connected Pedestrian and Bicycle Networks: A Review of International Practices Identifies and evaluates international best practices in establishing pedestrian and bicycle transportation networks and improving safety.
Guidebook for Evaluating, Establishing, and Tracking Pedestrian and Bicycle Performance Measures Presents the full range of potential measures, organized in categories useful to practitioners at the local, MPO, State, and national level.
Multimodal Conflict Points Focuses on planning and design improvements needed in locations where various transportation modes come together, for example near transit stations, bus stops, street-crossings, schools, and essential services.
Workbook for Building On-Road Bike Networks through Routine Resurfacing Programs Develops a workbook to assist communities in jump starting on-road bike network creation by better capturing opportunities as part of the routine resurfacing process.
Flexibility in Pedestrian and Bicycle Facility Design Provides design and process related examples of design flexibility as a follow-up to FHWA's Bicycle and Pedestrian Facility Design Flexibility Memorandum.
Strategic Agenda for Pedestrian and Bicycle Transportation Provides a strategic action oriented framework for issues such as data collection and management, network implementation and documentation, research, training, and national design guidance. The strategic framework will inform future investments, coordinate policies, and promote partnerships.
Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) Performance Management Guidebook Provides sample performance objectives and measures that States, MPOs, and project sponsors may consider. About 2/3 of TAP projects benefit pedestrians and bicyclists.
Pedestrian and Bicycle Network Report Document network examples provided by Division Offices and present a framework for network related next steps.
Pedestrian and Bicycle Assessment Report Document all 52 assessments and highlight lessons learned and next steps.
