    •  Harris Wofford - an inspiration to serve! We heard from AmeriCorps Alums ED Ben Duda that he was inspired to serve after seeing Harris Wofford speak on his campus. Who inspires you to serve?

I miss AmeriCorp, some of the best days of my life

I can honestly say that it was the most wonderful years of my life. My first assignment was a park in Fairview Heights, IL. A part of me is still there at that park. I worked for 1 1/2 years running a computer center for a Grade School in Belleville, Il, I rfterschool program and ran their summer camp for 2 years. I really hated to leave my kids. I hated leaving AmeriCorp. My daughter had gone to that school 5 years before, it was great giving back to our old community.

AmeriCorps was the thing I could have done after finishing college. I gained more experience and learned more than I could have in any entry-level job. I also was able to become engaged in my community in way nothing else would have enabled.
