Bell Telephone Co. transmitted an image for the first successful long distance demonstration of television. Charles Lindbergh made the first solo, nonstop transatlantic flight from New York to Paris, in his single-engined aircraft, the Spirit of St. Louis. The Jazz Singer opened in theaters and it became a huge success as the first “talkie” movie. City Bar opened in Maurice, Louisiana.
