Honourable Ron Lemieux
Welcome to the website of Manitoba Infrastructure and Transportation. As you view these online pages, you will understand why I believe this department is truly at the heart of government.

Manitoba Infrastructure and Transportation (MIT) provides citizens and visitors with public infrastructure and services that contribute immensely to the sustainable economic growth, social well-being and public interest of all Manitobans.

MIT establishes and manages a diverse range of public infrastructure assets including 19,000 km of highways, 2,400 bridges and large culverts, 2,200 km of winter roads, 2,369 pieces of heavy duty equipment, 2,624 light duty vehicles, 24 northern airports, 16 aircraft, 8 marine vessels, and 7.3 million square feet of building space. MIT also develops and manages Manitoba’s transportation and government services policy and legislative framework. Additional responsibilities include Lifeflight and fire suppression air services, government procurement services and public sector materials and mail management and a public land stewardship role.
