Summer Student Salaries

All students are guaranteed 40hrs of work per week (8hr/day 5days/week); overtime is earned at a rate of 1.5 times after eight (8) hours Monday to Friday and double time on weekends. All overtime is paid as it is earned.

College and University wages increase with consideration given to previous related experience and level of education within the given ranges

High School (approx 2 months)
Over $14.00 per hour; estimated earnings over a two month period is $4500.00 plus overtime.

College Access (approx 4 months)
Over $15.50 per hour; estimated earnings over a four month period is $10,000.00 plus overtime.

University (approx 4 months)
Over $16.50 per hour to over $17 per hour; estimated earnings over a four month period is $10,500.00 to $11,000.00 plus overtime.

College (approx 6 months)
Over $15 per hour to over $17 per hour; estimated earnings over a six month period is $15,000.00 to $16,500.00 plus overtime.

Civil Engineering Technology Students Pay Rate

1. 1st year (Sept-May)
   No experience 4th step of EA1 (15.26/hr)
2. 1st year (Sept-May)
   1 year related summer experience 5th step of EA1 (15.73/hr)
3. 2nd year (Nov-May)
   1 year related summer experience 2nd step of EA2 (16.74/hr)
4. 2nd year (Nov-May)
   No experience 5th step of EA1 (15.73/hr)

At the end of the 2nd coop experience the employee’s work performance is evaluated and is offered a full-time position. Rate and classification to be determined.

Civil Engineering Students Pay Rate

1. Completion of First Year Engineering
   No experience - 1st step of EA2 (16.22/hr)
2. Completion of Second Year Engineering
   1 year related summer experience 2nd step of EA2 (16.74/hr)
3. Completion of Third Year Engineering
   2 years related summer experience 3rd step of EA2 (17.27/hr)
4. Completions of Second Year Engineering
   No previous related summer experience 1st step of EA2 (16.22/hr)
5. Completion of Third Year Engineering
   No previous related summer experience 2nd step of EA2 (16.74/hr)
6. Completion of Third Year Engineering
   1 year related summer experience 2nd step of EA2 (16.74/hr)

Engineering-in-Training (E.I.T.) positions may be offered to Civil Engineering students involved in our program. These positions will be offered in the fall to the students entering into their graduation year. E.I.T. positions will be offered after evaluating work performance and our interview process.
