Did you register for disaster assistance after Hurricane Matthew? Did you receive a letter or other correspondence from us that says you’re ineligible?
You may simply need to provide additional documentation, such as insurance information. It’s important to carefully read letters and other information provided by FEMA because they include explanations of what steps need to be taken to have the status of your request for assistance reconsidered.
You can ask us to review your application again if you appeal the decision within 60 days of receiving the letter. If you have questions, call our helpline at 800-621-3362 or take the letter to a disaster recovery center. Survivors who are deaf, hard of hearing, or have difficulty speaking and use a TTY should call 800-462-7585.
