Mission

To provide integrated and standardized primary prevention programs and services that promote enhanced and sustained healthy lifestyles to improve the overall well-being of Soldiers and Family Members.

Health Assessment Review

This core program is the foundation fo the core program mix. This service includes general health assessments and/or risk stratification tools such as the Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q) and the American College of Sports Medicine (ASCM) risk stratification guidelines. These assessments help determine the current level of an individual's health and identify the changes that will be necessary to reduce risk factors for disease prevention. The assessments also provide the Army Wellness Center with a means to identify individuals who may need additional screening from a primary healthcare provider.

Physical Fitness

Through exercise testing, this core program establishes a baseline for clients' physical fitness and prescribes a program of exercise to increase levels of physical fitness based on clients' health/fitness goals.

Healthy Nutrition

This core program utilizes metabolic testing to determine an individual's resting metabolic rate and develop tailored strategies for weight loss, gain or maintenance.

Stress Management

The primary goal of this core program is to identify clients' stress levels, increase the number of clients at healthy stress levels and refer clients self-identified as "high stress" to Behavioral Health. Stress management services include biofeedback and education in stress relief techniques, positive coping skills, and mindfulness.

General Wellness Education

The main goal of this core program is to increase clients' positive health behaviors through education. Education topics healthy lifestyles, increased resiliency, preventing chronic disease through healthy living habits, healthy sleep habits, and self-care.
