The Department of the Navy honored Ms. Judy Hope with the Purchase Card Program Level V Agency Program Coordinator of the Year 2012 Silver Award. Her outstanding work as a supply system analyst in the Supply and Information Services Division led her to being selected for the honor for which more than 1,000 activity level program coordinators were eligible.

Collectively, Ms. Hope manages more than 300 cardholders, approving officials and alternates at the Naval Research Laboratory. She is recognized as an authoritative source of knowledge, advice and counsel to all purchase card program participants. Working closely with division managers and NRL senior managers, Ms. Hope guides personnel in ways to best structure their division purchase card programs. For her efforts, the award citation reads in part,

Ms. Hope is a dedicated Agency Program Coordinator who responds quickly to every change in oversight requirements bringing the activity into compliance. This award represents excellence in compliance and reflects highly on the NRL, Office of Naval Research and the Department of the Navy.

Ms. Hope began her career at NRL as a summer intern nearly 30 years ago. After earning a bachelor's in business management from the University of the District of Columbia, Ms. Hope began work full time as a clerk typist in the Supply and Information Services Division. She went on to accept numerous positions within NRL before accepting her current role in the 1990s.
