Executive Briefing Program

The IACP Center for Social Media Executive Briefing Program is designed for state associations of chiefs and sheriffs and FBI's leadership development programs including the National Executive Institute, Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar, Command Colleges, and National Academy. The briefing addresses the benefits and challenges of social media technology and what law enforcement leaders need to know about policing in the age of social media. The briefing also includes an overview of the Center's no-cost resources and services to help demystify and navigate the world of social media. This program can also be tailored for other groups.

Training & Technical Assistance

The IACP Center for Social Media offers a variety of information and resources through this Web site. We also understand there are times when it is helpful to receive instruction or guidance specifically tailored to your agency’s needs. That is why, in addition to these resources, IACP Center for Social Media staff is available to provide technical assistance to law enforcement agencies. Staff is available to assist you and your agency with the following:
  • Social media account creation
  • Social media strategy development
  • General social media consultation
The Center does not provide consultation services on legal or personnel matters.  Fee-based training for law enforcement personnel is available.

National Training Partners


National White Collar Crime Center

The mission of the National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C) is to provide training, investigative support, and research to agencies and entities involved in the prevention, investigation, and prosecution of economic and high-tech crime. In partnership with the Bureau of Justice Assistance, NW3C is developing no-cost training and other resources for law enforcement on social media and investigations. Drakontas

Drakontas and Drexel University, in partnership with the Bureau of Justice Assistance, have developed a no-cost, one-day training course to help law enforcement personnel identify, investigate, and prevent crimes involving virtual worlds and online gaming communities.
