Delaware Department of State added 9 new photos.

Yesterday Gov. Jack Markell was joined by three of his predecessors, Gov. Ruth Ann Minner, Senator Tom Carper and Gov. Mike Castle, for the unveiling of a brand... new exhibit at the Delaware Public Archives.

"Delaware Votes: The History of Gubernatorial Elections in Delaware" traces the campaign history of #Delaware governors from the 18th Century to present day, and highlights one of Delaware’s most iconic electoral traditions, Sussex County’s “Return Day.”

Throughout the exhibit, Delaware’s story is juxtaposed with significant events in American political history, including the ratification of the 19th and 15th Amendments, which guaranteed the right to vote to women and African American men. Vistors can explore Delaware’s electoral history through images, documents, voting equipment, recordings, original campaign memorabilia and more.
