Fall Festivals in Delaware

The green of a Delaware summer turns into the gold and red of autumn while inspiring a sense of celebration and fun Delaware fall festivals.

The Delaware Wine and Beer Festival – voted one of America’s Top Festivals in 2013 and 2014 – is the only fest in Delaware that offers all of the state’s vintners, brewers and distillers at one event.

Tours of the paranormal scare up a good time across northern Delaware. You can search for spooks at sites like Fort Delaware State Park, Old Swedes Church and Bellevue Hall.

At the Delaware beaches, weekends are full of family-friendly fall festival fun and affordable things to do. The Sea Witch Halloween & Fiddler’s Festival in Rehoboth Beach lets kids and adults alike embrace their inner child with costumes and games. The Freeman Stage at Bayside’s Arts & Jazz Festival features top acts in mid-September. And the Boast the Coast Maritime Festival in Lewes has kid-friendly activities, a craft show and sidewalk sale – plus free boat rides and plenty of nautical fun.

The Rehoboth Beach Jazz Festival is a great way to catch cool music in a cool seaside town full of shopping and dining temptations.

The Wings & Wheels Fall Festival in quaint Georgetown features a “Fly In” of vintage planes, a huge classic car show and plenty of food and music. In nearby Bridgeville, the Apple Scrapple Festival simultaneously pays tribute to fall’s favorite fruit and Delaware’s top breakfast treat with three days of activities.

Fall’s also a great time for sampling the delicious handcrafted beers of Delaware’s breweries on the Delaware Beer, Wine and Spirits Trail.
