Welcome to the Green Energy Program

Background
The Green Energy Program provides grant incentives for qualifying renewable energy systems installed in Delaware. In order to participate in the Green Energy Program, your electricity provider must collect funds for the program and currently offer a grant program for renewable energy projects. For information on the history of the Green Energy program, click here.

Each electric utility company offering rebates through the Green Energy Program has unique program regulations, requirements, and application forms. For more information on how to apply and to access application materials, please click on your electric utility company's logo below.

The list of Delaware Green Energy Program Participating Contractors can be found below. If your contractor is not listed as a current Participating Contractor, please ask your contractor to submit a Participating Contractor Application to register with the program before installing your renewable energy system.

Due to the high demand for Green Energy Program incentives, there is a queue for grant payment after an application receives final approval. The wait time for grant payment varies by utility company, but the delay is over one year for most electric utility companies.

For more information about the Green Energy Program or to check the status of your grant application, please email DNREC_GreenEnergyProgram@state.de.us. Please provide your full name, address, and electric utility provider when requesting information.

Considerations for Installing Solar Panels In Delaware: This fact sheet can help you decide if system ownership, leasing, or a power purchase agreement will best meet your needs when choosing to install a solar panel system in Delaware.

Green Energy Fund Review and Recommendations Final Report: DNREC's Division of Energy & Climate contracted with VEIC to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the Green Energy Fund and to make program recommendations. The analysis included a review of regional solar markets, solar incentives, and a robust stakeholder engagement process and included two stakeholder webinars.

NOTE: The Online Application Portal for Delmarva Power Green Energy Fund grants, SREC Grants from the Sustainable Energy Utility (SEU) and applications for the expanded Commercial and Non-Profit Geothermal and Solar Hot Water Grant Programs launched on Aug. 4, 2014.  Applications for these programs must be submitted electronically through the Green Grant Delaware website.
