Canadian pop songstress brings her girls' night anthem "Dum" to life with a gaggle of girlfriends.

In her new video, Canadian pop songstress Aleesia brings her girls' night anthem "Dum" to life with a gaggle of girlfriends hanging tight and getting ready to conquer the city. With a sprinkle of steel drums and a catchy chorus, the song is a celebration of the silly fun and misadventures friends share when Friday comes around.

According to Aleesia, the track is inspired by a string of nights out on the town. The lines sound so specific, which Aleesia attributes to coming straight from her own life. "I was recounting the events from my Saturday night in the studio, and that's what we started with. I play flip cup with champagne 'cause I hate beer, my sister puts her weave in for a night out, McDonald's is always a thing and my girl Nicole pretty much drops, breaks or loses her phone every time we go out."

As for the video, Aleesia and her crew took it to the suburbs of Toronto to shoot with director Emma Higgins. "It was probably the most fun I've ever had on set," she admits. "We basically got a group of girls together, and just had fun on camera doing weird, dum stuff that girls do when they get ready for a night out!"

So where does Aleesia hit when she's out in the 6? "I have a few favorite spots in Toronto, but lately we've been going to a bar called Queen Street Warehouse. They play the best old school hip-hop, R&B and '90s throwbacks with music videos. I usually end off the night lip syncing to Spice Girls and eating donuts."
