TEDx Program
TEDx was created in the spirit of TED's mission, "ideas worth spreading." It supports independent organizers who want to create a TED-like event in their own community.
Since the beginning of the TEDx program in 2009, nearly 15,000 events have been held in every corner of the globe. And now, a new TEDx milestone has been reached: one billion views of TEDx Talks.
TEDx events unleash fresh ideas from local communities. Close to 50,000 talks have been given at 10,000 events since the program launched in 2009. In this playlist, explore the 10 most-watched TEDx talks posted to TED.com.
TEDxPortHarcourt asks the question: does simplicity build towards complexity? Or, do we break down complex subjects into simpler explanations? Located in Nigeria, TEDxPortHarcourt seeks to better understand nature's complexities - or, at least appreciate them.
Located in the Swedish capital of Stockholm, this year's TEDxStockholm event's theme is "Crossroads." Or, as they describe it, "the beginning of every direction." The speakers seek to discover a new perspective about the world and how to navigate it.
TEDxSingSing took place in the Sing Sing Correctional Facility in Ossining, New York, and brought together inmates and non-inmates alike to examine topics affecting the big picture of America's prison system.
What is TEDx?
The TEDx Program is designed to help communities, organizations and individuals to spark conversation and connection through local TED-like experiences.
At TEDx events, a screening of TED Talks videos — or a combination of live presenters and TED Talks videos — sparks deep conversation and connections at the local level. TEDx events are planned and coordinated independently, under a free license granted by TED. Learn about the TEDx event types
