PHMSA Seeks Comment on Draft Revision of Regulations for Safe Transport of Radioactive Material. The Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) today issued a notice requesting public comment on a draft revision of the International Atomic Energy Agency's (IAEA) "Regulations for the Safe Transport of Radioactive Material" (SSR-6), which is scheduled for publication in 2018. After considering public input, PHMSA and the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission will jointly submit U.S. comments on the draft document to the IAEA. The notice will be open for comments for up to 45 days after publication in the Federal Register. An actual date of publication will be determined by the Federal Register, but a preview of the notice transmitted by PHMSA is available on the agency's website at www.phmsa.dot.gov.
