The Secretary's Award for Diversity Management 2016

The Secretary’s Award for Diversity Management recognizes an employee who has excelled in efforts to promote diversity at the Department of Homeland Security through exceptional leadership, innovation and perseverance. The award may acknowledge individual efforts exclusively within the Department or with external partners who assist the Department of Homeland Security in meeting our commitment to diversity.

This year's winner is listed below, along with a description of their contributions and achievements:

Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson and Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas presented the Secretary's Award for Diversity Management to Steve K. Francis, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement during the Secretary's Award Ceremony held Oct. 26, 2016.

For establishing the Middle Eastern Law Enforcement Officers Association in 2015 to help promote diversity through DHS personnel of Middle Eastern descent.
