In our area we recently received a national designation as a bicycle-friendly community by the League of American Bicyclists. And this is a designation that really means that we've worked hard to accommodate bicyclists, both on our current highways and roads, as well as on greenways and other infrastructure. And so the City of Roanoke has worked very hard to do that and is continuing to strive to achieve even a higher level of that designation. We also have a regional program called Ride Solutions, and it is an alternative transportation program that really looks at how to encourage ride sharing, people to use transit, bicycling and walking, and having more of a sustainable, active lifestyle that promotes health, economic well-being, and gives options to our region's residents.
