Led by the Research and Development Partnerships Group, S&T’s Operational Experimentation (OpEx) is an experimentation analysis program. DHS S&T is committed to using operational experimentation, operationally-focused technology foraging and hands-on technology demonstration opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the department’s investments in research and development and test and evaluation.

The DHS S&T Office of Public-Private Partnerships provides access to technology experimentation and exploration venues and delivers an efficient and adaptable process to address technology alternatives, operational limitations and vulnerabilities. The program uses a collaborative approach between operational end users, technical innovators and the interagency community.
