Mapping Immigration: Naturalized Citizens
Naturalized citizens are legal permanent residents (LPRs) who have applied for and been granted U.S. citizenship. These people have fulfilled certain age, residency, and admission requirements and are granted nearly the same privileges, rights, and responsibilities as native-born citizens.
Below are links to maps (in PDF format) showing the distribution of LPRs becoming naturalized citizens by state of residence as a percent of the total naturalized flow. Three sets of maps are presented: 1) total naturalized flow, 2) class of admission, and 3) region and country of birth.
