Click here to get started.Designed for graduate-level students, this program aims to attract to the federal service outstanding men and women from a variety of academic disciplines and career paths who have a clear interest in, and commitment to, excellence in the leadership and management of public policies and programs. The PMF program is spans the entire federal government and is administered by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management.

Program Length

Two years. Presidential Management Fellows may be converted to a permanent position upon completion of the program.

Location

Various locations across the U.S.

Salary

$41,000 with promotion potential to $60,000 base pay. Additional salary varies by geographic location, from four to 35 percent of base salary. To view locality pay, visit the Office of Personnel Management.

Eligibility Requirements

The individual must have completed a graduate course of study at a qualifying college or university, received the nomination of the dean or academic director, successfully completed an Office of Personnel Management administered assessment process and be selected as a finalist. An applicant must also:

  • Be a U.S. citizen
  • Be able to obtain and hold a security clearance
