The 2013 DHS S&T / DoD ASD (R&E) Cyber Security SBIR Workshop highlighted Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science & Technology Directorate(S&T) Cyber Security Division (CSD) and Department of Defense (DoD) Assistant Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (ASD [R&E]) Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) awardees phase I and II research. The workshop allowed funded performers to collaborate and present their research and technologies to researchers and cyber security leadership from the Government, Private Sector and Academia.

The goals of the workshop were to:

  • Showcase SBIR awardees to demonstrate cutting edge cybersecurity research technologies both near and medium term solutions.
  • Improve security in both the Federal and the larger Internet community by developing new and enhanced technologies for the detection, prevention and response to cyber attacks on the nation’s critical information infrastructure.
  • To facilitate the transfer of these technologies into operational environments.

The event focused on maximizing technology transition opportunities for SBIR funded research and consisted of SBIR non-proprietary technical briefs, a poster / technology demonstration and private one-on-one sessions with system integrators or investors to discuss partnership, transition or other business opportunities.
