Body Armor IDIQ

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) awarded the Body Armor IDIQ contracts to provide its officers and agents with soft, torso protecting concealable body armor in support of the missions of DHS and its components. In addition to having the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) Certified concealable threat level IIIA body armor, which will offer fragmentation protection, this contract vehicle makes available additional items to include carry bags, outer carriers, modular pouches, and moisture wicking undergarments and allows participating agencies to custom tailor the armor “packages” procured to fit their operational needs.

The armor will be issued to students at various academies within DHS as well as to officers and agents in the field requiring replacement armor due to expiration or deterioration of their current armor.

Under this IDIQ, DHS Components may place orders on a Firm-Fixed Price basis or using a Government Purchase Card for orders up to $3k.

Benefits

This department-wide contract vehicle will meet the operational and support needs of DHS Components while reducing costs, streamlining processes, ensuring technical requirements are met, and improving armor capabilities. Additionally, pre-established terms & conditions and well-defined ordering processes will allow Contracting Officers (COs) to fill requirements more efficiently and will result in a shorter wait times for body armor.
