EMERGENCY ASSIGNMENT: Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.

Duties

In this position, you will be responsible for providing support to the Division's management team on administrative matters. Typical assignments include:

  • Monitoring internal management systems and procedures ensuring efficient and proper use of government resources.
  • Scheduling appointments, training, and conferences.
  • Performing administrative tasks such as processing travel orders and claims, time and attendance audits, training requests, mail, filing, faxing, meeting arrangements, weekly reports, etc.
  • Performing administrative functions which may include preparing requisitions, maintaining tracking systems and control files, and handling personnel-related matters.
  • Reviewing reports for proper format, punctuation, grammar, and content.
  • Attending and preparing summaries of meetings.
