The National Fire Academy (NFA) works to enhance the ability of fire and emergency services and allied professionals to deal more effectively with fire and related emergencies. Free training courses and programs are delivered at our campus in Emmitsburg, Maryland, online and throughout the nation.

Administration of Public Assistance for Community Recovery (R0335) Feb. 26 – March 4, Emmitsburg, Maryland
This six-day course shows state and local emergency management officials how to align organizations, people, processes and paperwork to meet federal fiduciary standards for public assistance recovery. Topics include the Stafford Act, FEMA policies, and various reimbursement procedures.

May 5, 2016 Gerry Bassett was honored with the 2016 Dr. Anne W. Phillips Leadership in Fire Safety Education Award at the 28th Annual National Fire and Emergency Services Dinner in Washington, D.C. Gerry retired in July 2015 as a training specialist for the Public Education and Training Program Management curricula at the National Fire Academy. Congratulations Gerry!
