Biography

Polly Trottenberg

Ms. Trottenberg was nominated by President Obama to serve as the Under Secretary of Transportation for Policy in June 2013, and confirmed by the U.S. Senate in January 2013. In this role, she serves as the principal advisor to the Secretary while providing leadership in the development of policies for the Department, generating proposals and providing advice regarding legislative and regulatory initiatives across all modes of transportation. Her office oversees the Office of Transportation Policy and the Office of Aviation and International Affairs.

Chris Bertram

Chris Bertram is the Assistant Secretary for Budget and Programs, and Chief Financial Officer, for the United States Department of Transportation.  As Assistant Secretary, he is responsible for the Department’s budget, which totals over $70 billion per year.  He also oversees the financial and performance management of the 12 agencies within the Department.

Robert S. Rivkin

General Counsel

Robert S. Rivkin was sworn in on May 18, 2009 as the 21st General Counsel of the U.S. Department of Transportation, following unanimous confirmation of his appointment by the United States Senate.

John D. Porcari

Deputy Secretary of Transportation

John D. Porcari has served as the 19th United States Deputy Secretary of Transportation since June 1, 2009.

As Deputy Secretary, Porcari is the Department of Transportation’s chief operating officer with responsibility for day-to-day operations of the 10 modal administrations and the work of more than 55,000 DOT employees nationwide and overseas.  Porcari is focused on transportation’s key role in economic development and providing the foundation for America’s future prosperity.
