Program Purpose

Assist State Departments of Transportation and Metropolitan Planning Organizations in implementing the Advanced ravel Forecasting Procedures Program (TRANSIMS), developing TRANSIMS application methods and providing training and technical assistance.

Funding

Funded by set-aside from Surface Transportation Research funds authorized in 5101(a)(1). The program may allocate up to 75% of available funds to State Departments of Transportation (State DOTs) and Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs) for the implementation of TRANSIMS. The Federal share of the cost of activities is 50%.
