FMCSA ELD Rule and Implementation Plan Webinar
On December 16, 2015, FMCSA amended the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations to include the Electronic Logging Devices and Hours of Service Supporting Documents Rule, also known as the ELD rule. This rule can be found in the federal register 80 FR 78292. The following topics are discussed in the ELD Rule and Implementation Plan Webinar:

- ELD implementation phases;
- ELD technical specifications;
- The harassment provisions; and
- Record retention and general requirements of supporting documents defined by the ELD rule.

ELD Phase I: Awareness and Transition
This webinar provides information on the first phase of the ELD Rule Implementation Plan. The Awareness and Transition Phase starts on February 16, 2016 and ends December 18, 2017. During this phase, motor carriers have the option of using registered Electronic Logging Devices. This webinar will provide guidance to the motor carrier industry on how the ELD rule will be enforced during the Awareness and Transition phase at roadside and during investigations.
